14th July 1961 is the most precious and memorable day in the History of The Bombay Pipes & Fittings Merchants’ Association. It was on this day the Office of the Association at 84, Nagdevi Street., was declared open by Shri. Vallabhadas V. Mariwala the then President of Indian Merchant’s Chamber. Mumbai, along with our then President Shri. Narmadashanker J. Desai.
Since the inception of the Association it was thought that members must be brought together and feeling of nearness and oneness developed amongst them. With the view in mind excursions and short pleasure trips were organized periodically, Over and above social & pleasure trips were organized periodically to places like, Nova Island, Pokharam Lake, Lonawala, Matheran, Mahabaleshwar, Dahanu Road, Goa, Ganeshppuri, Saputara, Nasik, Devka Beach, Khopoli, Bordi etc.
Over and above social & Pleasure trips, industrial visits – visits to manufacturing plants of interest to our members were also organised. To name few – Indian Tube Co. Ltd., Zenith Steel Pipes Ltd., National Rayon Corpn. Ltd., Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd. Burmah – Shel Refineries and many more industrial units.
The Association is pleased to put on record their sense of high appreciation and gratitude towards our all out Past Presidents and their teams in helping us set up a strong foundation.
A very special mention of our Ex Officio Shri Samir Shah for introducing the GO GREEN intitative and introducing the Association to a new website with a mobile app which not only magnify the Association but put it on a different level all together. Last but not the least. all the Managing Committee Members of our Association along with our neighbouring constituent associations for their co-operation, guidance and help whenever sought for.
